He moves to Concha Méndez's house in Coyoacán, where Paloma Altolaguirre and her children also live. In 1954, he is hired to teach "by the hours" at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and receives a research grant from El Colegio de México. He contributes to literary periodicals, México en la Cultura and Universidad de México.
