Cranleigh School Carlos Peregrín Otero Collection, Los Angeles

Stanley Richardson organizes a series of lectures for Cernuda in Great Britain. On February 14, he leaves for London, where he befriends Rafael Martínez Nadal. He works as tutor of Basque refugee children in Oxfordshire, an experience that inspires his poem “Niño muerto”. He teaches at Cranleigh School and reads the English classic writers.
