He speaks at the tribute to Valle-Inclán in Madrid’s Ateneo. He publishes the first edition of La realidad y el deseo, with critical acclaim. His friends pay him a tribute at a coffee shop on Botoneras St., where Lorca praises him highly. Civil war breaks out. After two months as attaché at the Spanish Embassy in Paris, he returns to Madrid and joins the Alpine Battalion. He is sent to the Sierra de Guadarrama, but his military service is short
