Le Corbusier’s new architectonic approaches materialize in projects such as the Cook House (Boulogne-sur-Seine, 1926) or Villa Stein-de Monzie, also known as “Les Terrasses” (Garches, 1926-1928). In Villa Stein, which acquired a canonical value in his architectonic production in the late 1920s, Le Corbusier tried to find the appropriate tone that would give the Villa the necessary “architectonic dignity” in order to compare the significance of the words “house” and “palace”.
