ACTIVITIES

In addition to the exhibition, the following activities took place at the Residencia de Estudiantes:

  • Concert (voice and piano. Tribute to Salvador Moreno)

Manuel Cid, tenor, and Julio Muñoz, piano, performed Salvador Moreno’s songs based on poems by Federico García Lorca, Luis Cernuda, Ramón Gaya, Emilio Prados, Rafael Santos Torroella, Rafael Solana, Edmundo Báez, Josefa Murillo, Fray Luis de León, and Garcilaso de la Vega. Date: November 26, 8pm.

  • III Symposium. The Spanish exiles and Mexican culture: a tribute to Emilio Prados and Francisco Giner de los Ríos. Participants: Paloma Altolaguirre, Carlos Blanco Aguinaga, Antonio Carreira, Francisco Chica, José María Espinasa, Patricio Hernández, Tomás García, María Luisa Giner de los Ríos, Antonio Jiménez Millán, Andrés Soria Olmedo, and James Valender.
CONTENTS
  • The first edition of all his works, and the manuscrips of his published and unpublished works, as well as a vast selection of his works as editor, such as the Romancero general de la guerra de España, more than 300 romances that Prados compiled during the Civil War.
  • The complete collection of the journal Litoral (1926-1929), founded by Prados and Altolaguirre, and all the publications of Imprenta Sur.

  • Artworks by contemporary artists, some of whom were first published in Litoral, such as Salvador Dalí, Juan Gris, Manuel Ángeles Ortiz, Benjamín Palencia, Pancho Cossío, Ramón Gaya, José Moreno Villa, Francisco Bores, Hernando Viñes, Manolo Hugué, Gregorio Prieto, and José de Togores.
  • Prados’ drawings, such as the series Dibujos eróticos (12 drawings).
  • A selection of Prados’ correspondence (letters to Federico García Lorca, Manuel Altolaguirre, Gerardo Diego, Manuel Ángeles Ortiz, and Manuel de Falla), personal objects, notebooks, books, and dedicated poems.
  • Personal items related to Prados’ daily life in Malaga, the Residencia de Estudiantes, and Mexico.
