Manuel Altolaguirre y Concha Méndez, poetas e impresores

The exhibition includes a selection of Manuel Altolaguirre and Concha Mendez’s archives whose files are displayed to the public for the first time. They include manuscripts of the two poets, as well as examples of their printing work in Madrid, Havana, and Mexico. Their printing shops published books by Lorca, Moreno Villa, Neruda, Prados, Cernuda, and Alberti; they were a meeting point for their friends and one of the most dynamic centers of the new poetry. The exhibition also illustrates Altolaguirre and Méndez ‘ creative work in other fields, such as her plays, fiction and poetry writings, and his poems and film writings. Their correspondence and the artwork of some of their friends, such as José Moreno Villa, Carlos Enríquez, Gregorio Prieto, and Maruja Mallo are also exhibited.
