On Jan. 9, the newspaper El Sol began publishing his series “Pobretería y locura” ("Rabble and madness"), an eloquent title referring to the moment of great tension that Spain was going through. His weekly articles became daily collaborations, and they had such a great impact that the government censored them, first some sections and, finally, in its entirety. Ten years later, Moreno Villa published the series as a book in Leyenda publishing house, in Mexico.
