As it was not possible to bring the theater everywhere, the Patronato decided to expand the “minstrel’s activities” with a puppet show, with performances mixing a traditional, learned approach with the freshness of a new gender. The first performance took place in Malpica (A Coruña) in October 1933. Writer Rafael Dieste was the director and author of the plays performed in the puppet shows. At Cossío’s request, he wrote an adaptation of the romance “La doncella guerrera” (the warrior maiden)
