From the legacy of unpublished papers that Benjamín Jarnés left at the time of his death, which were among his personal archives that the Residencia de Estudiantes acquired in 1995, two works stand out: the novel El aprendiz de brujo and the short story, La dama aventurera. Both were written in 1946 and were ready to be published in one volume, as expressly stated by the writer himself. The novel tells the story of the witch Trótula through her conversations with an avid learner, the listener of her many adventures. The curiosity of the young man will unravel the mysterious past of three women: Faustina, Silvia, and Trótula, who actually represent three different periods in the life of the same person.
