Juan Ramón Jiménez. Epistolario I, 1898-1916
Volume I of Juan Ramón Jiménez’ Epistolario is the first in a series of three volumes that will compile the poet’s complete correspondence; it comprises 420 letters dating between 1898 and 1916. The editor, Alfonso Alegre Heitzmann, an expert in Juan Ramón, conducted an exhaustive study of diverse documentary archives and of the projects developed by the poet himself while preparing his complete works, which include a volume of special cards/letters that he considered to be part of his poetic oeuvre. Up to now, there were only a few anthologies that collected a small amount of his vast correspondence over a period of sixty years, thus making this publication especially relevant.
