The collection POETRY AT THE RESIDENCIA offers, as a living document, the voice of contemporary Hispanic poets who have been reading their poetry at the Residencia de Estudiantes since 1988. Each volume includes a CD, a transcript and notes about the life and work of the poet.
Poet closely linked since his youth to the Residencia de Estudiantes, where he met and frequently visited his friends of the Generación del 27, Alberti opened the series on November 10th, 1988. In his reading, punctuated with anecdotes and meaty comments, the poet read from his books, reminisced about the Residencia and paid an emotional tribute to his friend, Federico García Lorca.

Octavio Paz read for the first time at the Residencia on June 9th, 1989. He reflected on his own poetic experience and concept, and read from his main books, which he described as "not as abstract verbal inventions, but as specific responses to specific situations.”
