Maestros de la arquitectura moderna en la Residencia de Estudiantes

VV. AA

Salvador Guerrero, editor

Some of the individuals that we consider today to be masters of modern architecture visited the Residencia de Estudiantes between 1928 and 1934 to speak about their work; among them were Le Corbusier, Erich Mendelsohn, Theo van Doesburg, Walter Gropius, Sigfried Giedion, and Edwin Lutyens. This book contains essays that shed light on these noteworthy builders of modernity. They are written by experts such as Stanislaus von Moos, Regina Stephan, Jan Molema, Joaquín Medina Warmburg, Sokratis Georgiadis and David Watkin, all of them professors at various European universities. Their essays are complemented and enriched by historical documents dealing with the lectures that those protagonists of modern architecture delivered at the Residencia.

This volume is the result of the lecture series entitled Correspondencias europeas. Maestros de la arquitectura moderna, that was heldat the Residencia de Estudiantes in January and April, 2009.
