In March, he meets with Aleixandre in Madrid, and they visit Juan Ramón Jiménez. Altolaguirre later sends Juan Ramón the manuscript of a book that ultimately will never be published: Alba quieta (retrato) y otros poemas. In December, on his way to France and Belgium, he stops at Hendaye to meet Miguel de Unamuno.
